Basic Omaha rules
Deck of cards
Like Hold’em, Omaha uses 52 cards of the standard deck. Includes 4 suits: diamond, heart, spade, and club. Each suit has 13 cards, from 2 to A.
Dealer
There will be a player in the Dealer position, marked by a small circular button. Normally, Dealer will be the one who shuffles and deals the cards. But when playing online poker you don’t have to do that. The Dealer is only used to determine who must bet blind money and the first person to act on each new round of betting.
Differences between Hold’em and Omaha
Post cards: At the beginning of the Omaha game, each player will be dealt 4 separate cards. As for Poker Hold’em, there are only 2 cards.
Card combination: you will use 2 of the 4 dealt cards to combine with 3 of the table cards from the dealer. This helps you create the most powerful set of the 5 cards in Omaha.
Community card:
A total of 5 community cards are played on the table in 4 betting rounds (3 in the Flop, 1 in the Turn and 1 in the River).
